Kasia Kociuba is the newest member of the BBA team. She received a Bachelor of Architecture from Rhode Island School of Design in 2012 along with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Kasia was part of the European Honors Program where she studied and painted in Rome. She has produced work at Oxbow through the Art Institute of Chicago and at Pratt Institute.
Kasia is interested in all scales of design, from a jeweler’s craftsmanship to urban planning and the art of mapping. She is fascinated by the process in which things are made, leading her to experiment with metalwork, printmaking, and abstract painting. She has exhibited her work at Pilsen Art Walks and at other local Chicago galleries. Her paintings are usually thick with paint and color, showing off various textures making them sculptural.
The practice of architecture has drawn Kasia to find her niche in residential design. As a third-generation architect, she is dedicated to healthy and livable communities, seeing opportunities for expression in our built environment. She draws inspiration from both classical and modern building precedents, and when she is not working or painting she is chasing such beautiful spaces around the world.
