Monica joined the bba team in August of 2022, bringing with her more than a decade of experience in the high-end residential sector leading teams to see projects through from concept to move-in. A native Michigander, her interest in architecture and construction started as a child when she would explore the half-built single-family homes going up in her neighborhood's expansion development. To this day she loves the smell of sawdust and has a passion for millwork details and interiors.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Master of Architecture degrees from the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) and participated in a work exchange program with a residential architecture firm in Brazil and a study abroad program with the Planning and Urban Design Department in Iceland and Scandinavia. There she adopted the Scandinavian high regard for natural light and importance of the human scale when making design decisions. After graduating in 2012, Monica worked at a small design-build residential architecture firm in Ann Arbor before moving to Chicago in 2014.
Monica enjoys travel and is fluent in four languages. A total foodie, when she isn’t cooking and entertaining friends and family (it’s the Polish grandmother in her), Monica can be found enjoying Chicago’s many culinary and cultural treasures. She currently resides in Uptown with her husband and two young daughters who are always up for a dance party or exploring all the city has to offer.
