Alpine Getaway

Alpine Getaway represents a second collaboration with our clients, building on a long-standing relationship that began with the design of our LEED Gold Home.

Set within a sweeping mountain meadow and framed by a spruce windbreak, Alpine Getaway is composed as a series of gabled pavilions connected by glass-walled links that guide movement and frame the surrounding landscape. As the driveway winds toward the home, the terrain, architecture, and landscape work together to offer controlled glimpses of the distant mountain range, building anticipation before arrival across an entry bridge.

Inside, a light-filled sequence of rooms unfolds toward the view. A two-story glass stair hall creates a moment of pause at the entry, capturing a vertical slice of sky and mountains beyond, before the full panorama is revealed in the combined living and dining space. Here, a wall of glass opens to the 7,000-foot peaks in the distance, anchoring the home to its alpine setting. The great room’s soaring 13-foot ceiling, articulated with exposed fir beams and purlins, brings warmth and scale to the expansive interior while maintaining a strong connection to the outdoors.
