Tryon Swimming Pond

A natural swimming pool maintains clean, clear water with a natural biological filtering system. Water is continuously drawn thru a biological rock filter system and waterborne plantings that include water lillies, horsetails, sedges, bulrush and irises. The water is circulated through an ultra violet sterilizer and re- turned through the pool with aerating water features. These in- clude a naturalized stream bed and a horse trough fountain. The pond is lined and covered with pebbles to maintain a natu- ral appearance. The pond was built against the back wall of an existing tractor shed. A sunshade was created with a bamboo topped trellis. The deck is covered with salvaged concrete pavers.
