Habitat Build Day 2024

In mid-May, the BBA team made our way to the Grand Crossing neighborhood to participate in a day of service with the Chicago division of Habitat for Humanity. This build marked our third collaboration with Habitat, and our team really looked forward to spending the day on their job sites. 

Every Habitat for Humanity build is different, with teams jumping into projects at various stages depending on the time of year. Our last day of service was in early spring, our team built fences and painted interiors to put the finishing touches on a home. This year, we had the chance to help the project take shape from the ground up. Our team was responsible for framing wall sections and moving and raising them into place. 

Many of us are no strangers to job sites, but our volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity lets us get our hands dirty and helps us appreciate all of the work our contractors and their teams do in the field. It was especially fun to see some of our admin team out in the field, hammers in hand. Habitat for Humanity site managers really made the experience accessible to everyone, whether or not they have any construction knowledge, and did an incredible job of keeping the job sites safe and productive.

Our team was grateful to be supported by more than a dozen donors and team members for this year’s build, raising $4,500 for Habitat for Humanity.
